I am “almost” a native to CO having moved here in the second grade. My dad began a career as an outdoor writer and guide so, we packed up from Chicago. I grew up in an active “outdoorsy” family as a result. After graduating from Colorado College with a degree in Sociology, I traveled extensively and worked in careers ranging from outdoor education instructor to inner-city social worker. After lots of moves and changes, I returned to CO to complete a master’s degree in curriculum from the University of Colorado in Denver. I taught for three years at Adam’s City Middle School before heading to 27J. I taught sixth grade at Thimmig Elementary for five years when it was a K-8 school. I came to Stuart when it opened so proud to be a part of this great district! I am married with two elementary – aged children of my own. We spend our free time enjoying CO, gardening, running around to various kids’ teams and visiting family all over the place! |

I was born in New Port Richey, Florida, but I grew up in several different states. Most of my time was spent in Houston and Austin, Texas. After graduating high school, I joined the Army Reserves to serve my country and broaden my horizons. After determining that the military was not for me, I moved to Colorado. Shortly after moving to Colorado, I got a job traveling around the country setting up three-on-three basketball tournaments for Hoop it up. I spent five months traveling the country with two of my best friends and basically living in a mini-van as we drove around setting up these events. Although this was a fun time in my life, it is what pushed me to go back to college. Once I returned, I began working on getting my teaching license. It was during these college years that I met and fell in love with my wife. She was, and still is, the driving force behind my successes. We recently purchased a home in Aurora and we snow board every chance we get. It is because of everything that has happened in my life that I wanted to become a teacher. I welcome each and every one of you into my classroom, and I hope to spread my love of learning to all of you. This year promises to be filled with learning and exploration. |

I was born and raised in Colorado, and earned my degree from Metro State College of Denver. I love to read and write, go to plays, watch the Broncos, and relax with yoga. I have two amazing Bearded Dragons, Alice and Albert, and I love taking care of them! Here at Stuart, I direct Drama Club, and enjoy giving students their time in the spotlight! I can't wait to get this years production underway! As a Language Arts teacher, I want to guide students through literature, and help students improve their writing skills. I'm proud to be a Stuart Raptor. |
