I was born in Matehuala, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. My family came to the United States when I was 9 months old. I grew up in Rawlins, WY, the second of six children. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Wyoming, and moved to Colorado a month after I graduated from college. I have lived in Brighton, CO since 1995 and have taught in the Brighton School District since 1996. I spent the majority of my career at Overland Trail Middle School, and then started at Stuart Middle School when it opened in 2009. During my tenure at Overland Trail, I received my Master’s Degree from the University of Colorado Denver. I enjoy being around kids, and I love to help them see their true strengths and guide them to realize what their potential really is. I love to spend time with my family. I’m lucky to have all of my siblings in the Denver area, while my parents still live in WY. We try to get together as often as possible so that our own children recognize how important family is. My husband Tim and I have a son named Christopher, who is a 2nd grader at Turnberry Elementary. In addition to my family, I like to read. My favorite authors are Harper Lee, Suzanne Collins, and Nicholas Sparks. I also like photography and scrapbooking. My dream is to be able to be a children’s photographer during my off time from school. |

I was born and raised in Squamish, a small town in British Columbia, Canada. It is very close to the big beautiful city of Vancouver. I was brought into the States on an athletic scholarship where I represented the Arkansas State University soccer team. I am so blessed to live in this amazing state with my husband Cole and our sweet Golden lab, Abby. When I am too busy training for triathlons or crossfit, we spend many weekends backpacking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. I have always been passionate about helping people and I strongly believe that this is one of the most rewarding jobs, because I can prepare and inspire children to do their best. |

When I was in school math and science were my favorite subjects. I went to college for biology, where I had the opportunity to do research to find a cure for breast cancer while earning my Master’s degree. I have also done math research, learning new math about numbers and shapes. I have studied a lot of science and math over the years. I hope that, together, we can discover a lot of fun things about math and technology this coming year. I love animals; my husband, Justin, and I have two dogs, and three cats; we love our animal family members very much. This past summer I got to learn a lot about math. In my free time I like to cook; food is one of my favorite things. To make my cooking better, I garden so I have fresh vegetables for cooking. I also like to hike and raft: I get to see some beautiful places this way. My favorite music is alternative rock, like Single File, All American Rejects, and Alkaline Trio. I love to laugh, so one of my favorite celebrities is Adam Sandler. If you know any good jokes, I’d love to hear them! |

I consider myself a native of Colorado since I’ve lived here since 1981. I was born in Frankfurt, Germany and lived in Georgia and Hawaii before my dad retired from the Army. I grew up in Colorado Springs, the youngest of four, and with my parents who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past summer. Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, but I took a few detours along the way. I received my Mathematics degree in Applied Statistics from University of Northern Colorado and worked in the corporate world as an inventory analyst for the makers of Hot Pockets (Chef America), a production planner for Atmel, a semi conductor company, and a realtor for a local real estate broker. In 2002 I decided it was time for me to pursue teaching so I went back to school to get my licensure and masters of education from Regis University. I have taught at Overland Trail Middle School, Wheat Ridge Middle School and have been at Otho E. Stuart Middle School since it opened in 2009. I love teaching math and middle school, yes I must be a little bit crazy. Outside of school I enjoy spending as much time as possible with family and friends. I have three beautiful children who are my world, Liliana is 8 , Isabella is 5 and Ikaika is 9 months. We enjoy doing fun things like swimming, going to the park, zoo, museums and movies. We love exploring in the mountains where we hike, bike, snowboard/ski, and camp. I have little travelers who love getting on a plane or taking road trips, so we have been to many states but our favorite destination is the beach. I enjoy baking, reading and competing in sprint triathlons, my goal is to complete a Half Ironman in the fall of 2014 or early 2015. |
